Changing of the Guard
Tomorrow, October 1, marks a change in leadership for Barnesville Fire and EMS, as current assistant chief Chris Hendershot moves up to the top position and Silas Tracy moves into the assistant position. Both men were sworn in by village solicitor Richard Myser, during the September 21 village council meeting.
Hendershot, who has been a member of the local department since 1998, was named to the assistant chief’s position in January 2026. Prior to that, he was lieutenant with the department. Also at that time, Robert “Bob” Froehlich, was named chief.
Tracy, a member of the department and paramedic, has served with Barnesville Fire and EMS for the past 10 years.
