Sherry Kristine Mae Powell

Sherry Kristine Mae Powell, 66, of Bethesda passed away peacefully on October 11, 2026. She was born on December 16, 1959, a daughter to the late John and Dorothy (Bell) Paskel.

Sherry Kristine Mae, lovingly known as Kriss, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her family with her whole heart. She truly put the home in homemaker, filling her home with love and memories her family will cherish forever.

Kriss loved cooking, baking, gardening, and canning the fruits of her labor. She was the best cook in Belmont County! She also loved watching football and proudly cheering on her Pittsburgh Steelers and Ohio State Buckeyes.

Her greatest joy was her family, and she showed her love in everything she did. Her presence, her cooking, and the love she poured into her home will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Kriss is survived by her beloved husband, William “Hoss” Powell of Bethesda; her three children, James (Angi) Vanfossen, Jenny (Sean) Tomer, and Jessica (Wyatt) Dingus; her grandchildren, Jake, Logan, Morgan, James, and Luci; and her great-granddaughter, Kouvr.

A house becomes a home because of the love inside it, and Kriss made sure hers was always full.
