Gibson Reaches 1,000 Career Assists
On October 14, the Barnesville Shamrock volleyball team played in the OVAC Consolation Tri-Match at Buckeye Local. The Shamrocks won 2-0 over Buckeye Local, with scores of 25-20 and 25-12.
During the first set, senior Londyn Gibson reached 1,000 career assists. Gibson is the 3rd setter in Barnesville volleyball history to accomplish 1,000 career assists. Ava McFarland and Mya McEndree are the other two players to achieve this goal.
“Reaching 1,000 career assists is a major milestone for a volleyball setter, representing a high level of playmaking and consistency over multiple high school seasons,” shared Coach Kimberly Jarrett. “Londyn has been a varsity setter for three seasons, and has worked hard and pushed herself when leading our offense to accomplish 1,000 Assists. This was a goal of hers, and we are proud that she has earned it in her senior year.”
The Shamrocks swept the second match against Indian Creek, 25-15 and 25-13.
Tonight, Barnesville will host Richmond Edison at 6 pm in the Barnesville High School gymnasium, which is the first round of the Division V East District Tournament. Shamrock fans are asked to wear green to create a “green out” in support of the Lady Rocks volleyball team.
