Movie Adds Halloween Atmosphere
For the first time in 57 years, a movie filled the screen at the historic Barnesville State Theater on Halloween as the State Theater Company hosted two showings of the 1993 holiday classic ‘Hocus Pocus’.

The two shows at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. were followed by costume judging for those who came Halloween-ready for the movie. The sponsor for the movie event was Greg and Angie Bahmer of Triple B Trucking.

With the movie showings completed, warm weather productions at the movie house end until the spring of 2027 while theater board members and volunteers begin the arduous task of raising about $175,000 to complement an Ohio Capital Bill grant of $150,000 announced earlier this year.
