Timothy Richard Ward

Timothy Richard Ward, 75, passed away on October 28, 2026, following a brief illness. Born in Wheeling, West Virginia, Tim grew up in Barnesville, Ohio, before moving to East Liverpool at age 14. He graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1969.

Tim was talkative, easygoing, and always ready with a joke. He never met a stranger, wasn’t afraid to speak his mind, and had a gift for making people laugh and feel welcome. Beneath his humor was an incredibly kind heart. He never judged others, always made time to listen, and would give you the shirt off his back. With his unforgettable smile and kind eyes, he made everyone feel important.

Tim began working in an auto dealership parts department at 16 and spent nearly 60 years in the automotive industry. Cars were his lifelong passion, especially muscle cars, with the Corvette always his favorite. He was also a proud member of the East Liverpool Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years.

Family was everything to Tim. He and his wife, Sondra, married in 1978 and shared 48 wonderful years together. He was a devoted husband and father who always put others first, often asking, “Are you alright?” To his children, Aimee and Dustin, he was more than a father; he was their compass, biggest supporter, and someone they could always count on. Aimee will forever remember him as a wonderful daddy who was always there when she needed him.

Tim shared a special bond with his granddaughter, Emilia. Their high fives and his familiar ear tug when saying goodbye became cherished traditions that will never be forgotten.

He loved swimming, beach vacations, and the ocean. He was also a loyal Ohio State Buckeyes and Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved Motown music, especially The Temptations.

Tim is survived by his wife, Sondra Sheets Ward; daughter, Aimee Ward Good, and son-in-law, Frankie Good; son, Dustin; granddaughter, Emilia; stepmother, Agnes Ward; stepsister, Kay (Gary) Rawson and family; stepbrother, Leonard (Libby) McKenzie and family; and many beloved relatives throughout Ohio. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lou McGregor Ward; father, Thurman Ward; and stepbrother, Dwain McKenzie.

Tim will be remembered for his humor, generous heart, infectious smile, and the countless lives he touched. He leaves behind a lifetime of laughter, love, and memories. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
