Press Release
BARNESVILLE, OHIO – WVU Medicine Barnesville Hospital received a grant from The Baker Education and Economic Development Fund and the Monroe County Community Foundation to purchase a new treadmill for its Physical Therapy program.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Baker Education and Economic Development Fund and the Monroe County Community Foundation for their generous support of WVU Medicine Barnesville Hospital’s rehabilitation program,” said Jason Florence, director of Rehabilitation Services at Barnesville Hospital.
“This new treadmill is an essential tool that will enhance the care we provide, helping patients safely rebuild strength, endurance, and cardiovascular health. “With hundreds of therapy sessions each year relying on this type of equipment, this investment will have a meaningful impact on our patients’ recovery and long-term wellness.”
The Barnesville Hospital Physical Therapy department helps patients achieve, maintain, and restore physical function and health after a serious illness or injury.
“We are proud to support our local hospital through this grant and help provide equipment that will have a direct and lasting impact on the health of our community,” Nikki Baker-Lude, committee chair for the Monroe County Community Foundation and Baker Education and Economic Development Fund, said. “Supporting projects that strengthen the organizations serving our friends, families, and neighbors is exactly what our Community Fund was created to do.”
