Pride, Pace, and PRs: Honoring the Barnesville CC Runners
On November 2, the Barnesville cross country teams gathered at Shady Lane Event Center to celebrate and reflect on the 2026 season with their families and friends.
Highlights for the Shamrock girls’ team include a third-place finish at the OVAC Championship and a second-place finish at the Buckeye 8 Championship. The girls’ team also qualified for the OHSAA Cross Country Regional Meet.
Sophomore Addy Reed received the Top Runner Girls award for the 2026 season. “Addy Reed was coming on very well until a mid-season injury sidelined her for a couple of weeks,” shared Coach Mark Brown. “She was really coming back and had her best time at the Regional meet, but ran out of time.”
The boys’ team’s best moment was a fourth-place finish at the OVAC Championship. Linkoln Jendrusik, Jayden Barker and Ryder Gallagher individually qualified for the Regionals.
Senior Linkoln Jendrusik received the Top Runner Boys award. “Linkoln Jendrusik had an amazing season considering he was only able to practice 2 or 3 times a week, because of his commitment to the marching band as field commander,” stated Coach Brown.
The Most Improved award went to freshman Rowan Bubner, sophomore Ansley Clouse and senior Makayla Vitale.
Coach Brown expressed, “Overall, this team worked hard, showed a lot of improvement, and was very enjoyable to coach.”
