The Barnesville High School Auditorium buzzed with pride and excitement on Friday, December 6, as the annual National Honor Society (NHS) induction ceremony welcomed new members into this prestigious organization. The event was attended by a packed audience of family members, friends, staff, and classmates who gathered to celebrate the achievements of these outstanding students.
The ceremony was led by Mr. Kearns and Mrs. Zaccagnini, who guided the proceedings with the assistance of the Officers. This year, 23 new members were inducted into NHS, including 1 senior and 22 juniors. They join the ranks of 25 second-year members, all seniors, who continue to exemplify the four pillars of NHS: scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
A highlight of the afternoon was the traditional candle-lighting ceremony, led by the NHS officers. President Haley Hoffer, Vice President Evan Boulet, and Officers Kylee Powell, Fallen Sellers, and Luke Taylor each played a vital role in the induction process. The glowing candles symbolized the commitment of the inductees to uphold the values and responsibilities of the National Honor Society.
The new members stood proudly as they recited the NHS pledge, affirming their dedication to serving their school and community. Their hard work and achievements, both inside and outside the classroom, were celebrated by all in attendance.
The event concluded with congratulations from faculty and peers, as well as the presentation of certificates to the new inductees. This memorable evening marked a significant milestone in the academic and personal growth of these exceptional students.
Congratulations to all the new and returning members of the BHS National Honor Society!
