Buddy Barker

Buddy Barker, 85 of Somerton, Ohio passed away Sunday November 16, 2025 at his home.  He was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia August 24, 1940 a son of the late Clifford and Garnett Wright Barker Sr.

He retired from Ormet Aluminum Corp with over 30 years of service, and had also worked for Kirk’s Furniture. He farmed many acres for years and raised Herford cattle, and had even logged with a mule.  In his retirement years he hauled many old cars for people and ran a junk yard.  He loved old cars and loved going to old car flea markets.  His favorite band was Deep Down Country and he loved to dance to their music.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife Sandra Bolon Barker.

He is survived by his children; Tammy (TJ) Jefferis, Russell (Dawn) Barker, Joy (Wayne) Duvall, Joyce Barker, David Barker, Terri (Troy) Cross, John (Deanna) Barker, one step-son, Shane Steele, sister; Judi (Butch) Foster, 18 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren, many-many friends, and he never knew a stranger.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday November 19, 2025 at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home Woodsfield, Ohio with Rev. Thomas Detling officiating.  Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery Lewisville, Ohio. 

Friends and family are welcome to the Somerton Firehall after the graveside committal.
