Sandra K. (Mruzek) Rhodes

Sandra K. (Mruzek) Rhodes, age 83, of Port Charlotte, Florida, was called home to be with the Lord on February 23, 2026, passing peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 2, 1942, in Wheeling, West Virginia, and was raised in Wolfhurst, Ohio.

Sandra was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Ernest and Elsie Mruzek; her brother, Ernest Mruzek; and her sisters, Norma Fatula, Donna Smith, and Shirley Gibbons.

She is survived by her loving sisters, Sharon Baker of Belmont, Ohio, and Mary Ann Purpura of Canton, Michigan, who will always cherish her memory.

Sandra’s life and memory will be forever cherished by her devoted sons, Bill (Jody) Rhodes of North Port, Florida, and Craig (Arleen) Rhodes of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Kendra (Trent) Radcliffe of Follansbee, West Virginia, and Allison (Randy) Moore of North Port, Florida. She was also blessed with three great-grandchildren—Gracie, Roscoe, and Jack—who brought her immense joy and whom she loved dearly.

Sandra retired from Lansing-Heartland Nursing Home after many years of dedicated service as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), where she cared for others with kindness and compassion. She was a faithful member of Lansing United Methodist Church and carried her strong faith with her throughout her life.

Sandra loved football and was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan, rarely missing a Sunday game. She also found simple joy in watching her favorite game shows.

Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice in God’s promise of eternal life and find comfort in knowing she rests in peace in His loving arms. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Services will be held privately by the family at their convenience.  Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside, Ohio assisting the family.
