Hospital’s TMS Program Profiled

Last summer representatives of the state-wide treatment program, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) shared with Barnesville Council information on the treatment offered at several hospitals in Ohio including WVU Medicine/Barnesville Hospital. The treatment uses magnetic waves to gently stimulate specific parts of the brain, helping to promote a calm and relaxed mind.

The treatment aids local veterans and first responders in managing their mental health.

Individuals interviewed for a WTOV news feature on the program include Belmont County Sheriff James Zusack, Deputy Steven Stan, Jamie Betts of  the hospital and a former first responder and Navy vet and Barnesville resident Tim Welch.
