2025 Barnesville State Theater Calendar Available

A commemorative 2025 calendar marking the 100th anniversary of the opening of the Barnesville State Theater is now available for sale at various locations including Avenues of Barnesville, Barnesville Chamber of Commerce and William Knox, CPA.

The calendar will also be sold at the theater during the upcoming Barnesville Pumpkin Festival and from committee members. Copies may be ordered online, or purchased by mail at P.O. Box 255, Barnesville, Ohio 43713. The cost for the keepsake calendar is $12. For mailed orders please add $4 for shipping and handling.

This unique calendar features captivating images and fascinating details about the various historic theaters that have graced the community over the past century. Discover historical tidbits from a 1925 visit by iconic American motion-picture, stage, and television actress Gloria Swanson here to promote her film “Manhandled” to the first movie flashed upon a screen in the village, the iconic 1903 silent short, “The Great Train Robbery”.

The calendar profiles Barnesville’s eight movie emporiums, the nearby Leatherwood Drive-In, and covers the important role movies played during World War II and at Christmas.
