Monroe Central – 13, Barnesville – 2
Barnesville Varsity Shamrocks had trouble keeping up with Monroe Central in a 13-2 loss last Saturday.
Monroe Central opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. Monroe Central first got on the board when Maclarin Craft singled, scoring two runs.
Monroe Central scored five runs on four hits in the top of the fifth. Kennadi Jorris singled, scoring two runs, Karsyn Muncy singled, scoring one run, Olivia Earley singled, scoring one run, and Allie McFredrick singled, scoring one run.
Following that in the sixth inning, the Seminoles scored five runs on four hits. An error scored one run, Craft singled, scoring one run, Jorris singled, scoring one run, and McFredrick singled, scoring two runs.
Ella Betts opened the game for Barnesville allowing eight hits and eight runs (three earned) over five innings, striking out seven and walking three.
McFredrick started the game for Monroe Central allowing two hits and one run over four innings, striking out three and walking two.
Roselyne Anderson and Emma Swan were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for the Shamrocks. Swan led Barnesville with two hits in three at bats.
Monroe Central made 12 hits in the game. Jorris led the middle of the lineup, leading Monroe Central with four runs batted in. The catcher went 3-for-4 on the day. Jorris and McFredrick each collected three hits for Monroe Central. Craft and Muncy each collected multiple hits for Monroe Central. McFredrick stole two bases. Monroe logged four stolen bases for the game while committing no errors.
