Sweet Victory: Youth Bakers Take Prizes at Pumpkin Pie Baking Contest

A new generation of pie bakers swept the pumpkin pie baking contest this year at the 62nd annual Barnesville Pumpkin Festival. Nine bakers entered their best pies to win the coveted custom pottery pie plates donated by Luke Johnson, owner of Johnson Family Pottery.

Judges Jeff Miller, Lynn Spizenski and Mike Potter scored the pies on appearance, taste and texture. Winners were Annabelle Paprocki, Paityn Street and Mia Kubat.

Liz McKelvey was the committee chairperson for this contest.
