Shamrocks Sweep Two from Cambridge

This past week, the 8-1 Shamrocks baseball team was ranked Number 5 in Ohio Division V play, just behind nearby Harrison Central in fourth place. In addition, the Rocks are at the top of the 11-team OVAC 3A division.

On Monday evening, the Shamrocks poured it on after erasing an early 5-0 deficit to defeat Cambridge, 15-5. The Shamrocks winning streak stands at 8 games.

Bobby Thompson commanded the mound for 4 innings striking out 2 and walking 3 to earn the victory. Keegan Martin pitched a scoreless 5th, allowing 1 hit and striking out 3.

Barnesville collected 7 hits with Brayden Watters and Aidan Caldwell knocking in 2 RBIs each.

Jack Anderson, Jaxten Swallie, Dylan Blon and Parker Sobutka each knocked in one runner while a hit by Blake Burkhart brought three ‘Rocks across the plate.

The team will travel next to Martins Ferry on Wednesday to take on the Purple Riders.

JV Team Wins

The Shamrocks Junior Varsity team defeated Cambridge Monday night by a score of  13-5. The victory raises the team record to 6-3 on the season. They will play at home on Wednesday against Martins Ferry at 5p.m.
