Barnesville Stages ‘America 250’ Parade Sunday

A parade with an emphasis on youth will take place in downtown Barnesville Sunday afternoon. Parade participants will gather at the Barnesville Depot at 1:30 p.m. to form the procession that will step off at 2 p.m.

The parade route will take participants along North Arch Street and the municipal building turning onto Main Street at the Veterans’ Memorial Plaza. The parade will travel through the downtown district turning north at the elementary school gymnasium on Broadway.

The parade will turn east on Church Street returning to the Barnesville Depot.

Each young entrant will receive a complimentary American Flag provided by the Barnesville Kiwanis Club. Flags will also be handed out to citizens lining the parade route.

After the parade, free hotdogs, chips and lemonade will be handed out at the John Schradel Farmer’s Market Pavilion on the depot grounds.

And, for those interested, the recently reroofed Barnesville Depot will be open for viewing.
