Arthur Ray Jackson

Arthur was always willing to lend a helping hand to his family and never hesitated to be there when someone needed him. Some of his fondest memories were made years ago while taking his daughter, Julie, to watch the Wheeling Thunderbirds play.

He was also a true dog lover and was rarely without dog treats in his pocket, always ready to share one with a lucky dog he happened to meet.

Arthur had a natural talent for woodworking and took great pride in creating things with his own hands. Over the years, he made many special pieces, including Easter baskets and even a baby crib.

Arthur was also known as “The Turtle Man,” a name that suited him well. He had a special bond with his best friend, Fred, his 40- year-old turtle. Fred was a big part of Arthur’s life and brought him many years of memories.

In addition to his parents, Arthur was preceded in death by his brother, Alan Jackson.

He will be remembered with love by his daughter, Julie (Lawrence) Tingler; son, Adam Jackson (Ta’ha); brother, Dale “DJ” Jackson, Jr.; sister, Marjorie (Keith) Graves; grandchildren, Alexis Tingler, Madison Tingler, Lawrence Tingler, Hayley Jackson, and Phadrae Jackson; and his significant other, Renda Hendershot.

There will be no formal services.

Arthurs request for cremation will be honored.

He will be cremated at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home – Crematory.
