Pumpkin Festival Starts with Selecting Royalty
Barnesville Pumpkin Festival week kicked off on Sunday afternoon with a pageant to name the festival’s pumpkin royalty.
Lynzee Ensell from Mingo Junction, Ohio, was crowned Pumpkin Festival Queen by the 2025 Barnesville Pumpkin Festival Queen Ella Keller.
The Barnesville Pumpkin Festival Princess is Campbell Allen, daughter of Blake and Carissa Allen. She is a seventh grader at Barnesville Middle School.
Lucille Jefferis, daughter of Ray and Olivia Jefferis, was named Pumpkin Festival Mini Miss. Lucille attends Barnesville Elementary as a second grader.

The Pumpkin Pretty Awards went to Becklee Oliver, Campbell Allen and Blake Baker. This award allowed the public to vote for their favorite candidate.
On Wednesday, during the Pumpkin Weigh-Off from 6-9 pm, gourds will be brought from near and far to compete for the King Pumpkin title.
The official opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will take place at 5 o’clock on Thursday in the King Pumpkin area. This year, the ribbon cutter is Becky Carpenter Hunkler, who was crowned the first Pumpkin Festival Queen in 1968.
