King Pumpkin Sold for $14,250
During the auction on Saturday afternoon, a consortium of buyers purchased the 2026 King Pumpkin for $14,250. This year’s buyer group included 56 businesses and individuals.
The purchaser usually gets to display the King Pumpkin for a week in front of their business after the festival. However, when a group purchases the King Pumpkin, a highly visible location is selected.
The King Pumpkin grower is paid $2 per pound, with the remaining proceeds going to the Festival Committee to continue the event next year. The pumpkin’s seeds are harvested and sold.
