Main Street Barnesville Caps Festival with Sidewalk Cleaning
Another successful Barnesville Pumpkin Festival is a wrap. The weather was perfect!
Thousands upon thousands of visitors came to take in our little bit of Appalachia, to pose for photos with the giant pumpkins and enjoy everything from fresh squeezed lemonade to French fries, sandwiches and more.
Beginning at 5 p.m. Sunday evening and continuing throughout the night, festival committee members, volunteers and village crews dismantled and removed all remnants of the festivities. That is except food and drinks that were mistakenly dropped and spilled on the sidewalks and streets.
This year, thanks to the new Main Street Barnesville organization, all sidewalk dirt and grime in front of the businesses and offices in the festival area in downtown Barnesville will also disappear!
The group is gifting the community the cleanup; the group’s second downtown sweep this summer.
On July 9 members and volunteers pulled weeds and swept sidewalks in the five-block area. The “icing on the cake” was a power wash by the Bin Blasting Brothers, a Belmont County business. They are back again today shining things up.
