Barbara L. Carpenter

Barbara L. Carpenter, 92, of Barnesville, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at Emerald Pointe Health & Rehab. She was born on March 4, 1934, in Barnesville to the late Elmer H. and Gladys Mae (Adkins) Greenwood.

Barb was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Barnesville and attended the Catholic Church. She was a member of the Barnesville Hospital Twig.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick E. Carpenter on March 22, 2010; siblings, Eloise Marie Ward, Shirley A. Swallie, Betty Jean Greenwood, Carol Mae Starr, Richard Elmer Greenwood, and Sandra Kay Stephens.

Barbara is survived by her son, Bruce (Debbie) Carpenter of Minerva, Ohio; five grandchildren, Alex (Alex) Carpenter, Joe (Gabby) Carpenter, Taylor Carpenter, Anastasia Carpenter, Logan (Gretchen) Carpenter; one great-grandchild, Eli; brother, Robert “Beans” (Dorcas) Greenwood; a special niece who was her caregiver, Brenda Miller; brother-in-law, Jim Swallie; and several nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2026 from 11am until the time of the service at 12pm with Pastor Van Fisher officiating at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Barb will be laid to rest next to her husband at Crestview Cemetery in a private graveside service.
