Curtis Kyer, local historian and captain at Cumberland Trail Fire District, will present a talk on Colonel James F. Charlesworth, a prominent St. Clairsville resident and veteran of the Mexican-American War and Civil War. Charlesworth held multiple Belmont County positions and belonged to several fraternal organizations, including the Grand Army of the Republic. Kyer will focus on Col. Charlesworth’s role in organizing the local militia to defend against Morgan’s Raiders.
