Ohio Yearly Meeting Planned for Stillwater Meeting House

The annual gathering of representatives of the Ohio Yearly Meeting of Conservative Friends has been a Barnesville staple since 1878 when the current Stillwater meeting house was erected. The 2025 OYM will take place at Stillwater to conduct business beginning, Monday, August, 4 and running through Sunday, August 10.

Belmont County LifeWise Programs Plan 5K Race

Belmont County LifeWise Directors are coordinating a 5K run that will raise money for Bible-based learning programs on Saturday, August 9.

The county-wide 5k run fundraiser registration will begin at 7 a.m. followed by the race at 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 9 at the Belmont County Fairgrounds, 45420, Roscoe Rd, St. Clairsville.

Former Greyhound Driver Reflects on a Life of Miles, Memories and Military Honors

Somerton native Don Byers continues his life after driving more than three million miles in his career with Greyhound.

Byers, who just turned 91 in June, settled on East Walnut Street, where he keeps his wife’s ashes, his brothers’ military memorabilia, and his own stack of awards from Greyhound. He continues to be close with his four children and 16 grandchildren.
