The BHS marching band awards banquet was held on December 9 in the Barnesville Elk’s ballroom. The Barnesville Shamrock Band Sponsors hosted the annual event. The students had the option to participate in a gift exchange as part of the evening’s festivities.
Staff at the Barnesville Hutton Memorial Library is again accepting donations of scarves, mittens and gloves for distribution at local schools and the Barnesville Thrift Store.

The Union Local School District will celebrate the dedication of the F-16 Fighter jet that is on its way to the school, next summer after a long-time battle to bring a jet to the school.
Although the Afterburners committee did not share when the jet will be arriving at the school, UL Jets Afterburners chairwoman Taylore Frasnelly shared the dedication for the jet will take place on June 22, 2026.
