Entries are now being accepted for the Barnesville Pickleball Tournament to be held on Saturday, July 5 at the Barnesville Memorial Park at part of the Barnesville Independence Day Celebration.
Carl Kondrach, Wheeling native who now lives in Barnesville and hosts races, took strides at the Ogden Newspapers Half Marathon Classic Walk in May where he won first place for the walking race. The Ogden Newspapers Half Marathon during Wellness Weekend took place May 23 where Kondrach won this year’s Men’s Walk as a contestant. […]

Barnesville’s swim coach Bobbi Jo Johnson resigned after this past season after leading the high school swim team for 25 years.
Johnson began coaching the Barnesville High School swim team in 1999.
Several Barnesville’s girls and boys track team members placed at Regional action Friday and Saturday. Two are moving on to the State Championships.
Four Union Local track team members participated in the Reginal Track Meet Friday and Saturday, May 30-31.
BHS Track Team members were honored at an end of season awards program.
Western Division Court Judge Eric Costine declined to direct the county prosecuting attorney’s office to charge a Union Local football coach and two police officers for an incident that occurred at a football game in October 2024.
