After the announcement Wednesday of the passing of legendary college football coach Lou Holtz at the age of 89 is a reminder of his visit to Barnesville in April 1987 when he was the featured speaker at the annual Barnesville Chamber of Commerce Spring Banquet.
The Barnesville Boys and Girls Varsity Basketball 2025-26 Seasons came to an end this week as both teams came up short in post-season play.
Saturday’s competition took place on familiar ground, the BHS Gym, with six ‘Rocks wrestlers taking first place and all 14 team members moving on to the District tournament.
The Shamrock Varsity Boys Bowling Team represented the school and community at the State Bowling Tournament in Columbus Friday. This was the first time the team made it to the State.
Thursday, two ‘Rocks swimmers, sophomore Liv McCrate and junior Antoni Scheurle, posted respectable times in the three State Meet contests in Division II.
