Kevin Prater Band at Pennyroyal – Dec. 6

From the mountains of Eastern Kentucky, The Kevin Prater Band delivers their unique “Coal-Fired Pure Kentucky Bluegrass” with additions of Classic Country, Grassed Up Vintage Rock, Original Songs and emotion filled, Bluegrass Gospel music.  The Kevin Prater Band is frequently recognized and celebrated for their stellar harmonies and acapella singing. 

2025 Kevin Prater celebrates the 45th of his musical journey that began at age seven.  His God given vocal and musical talents have taken Kevin to 24 countries and 49 states, impressing fans world wide. 

Currently in his 16th year leading The Kevin Prater Band, they have experienced constant growth of fans and friends throughout the USA and Canada, playing 104 shows in 2024.  Fans appreciate the bands traditional bluegrass influence expressed through the leadership of Kevin Prater. 

A warm-up band to be announced starting the program at 7:00. The kitchen opens at 5:00. Tickets are $20. Children 12 and under free.     

The last program this fall on Friday, December 20 will feature Jeff Parker.

Mobile Mammography Unit at Quaker City – December 2

The Center for Cancer Health and OSUCCC James Cancer Mobile Mammography Unit will be at the Quaker City Baptist Churchy, 360 Barnesville Street, as part of the Ohio Hills Health Center, Quaker City, on Monday, December 2.  To schedule an appointment call (614) 293-4112 or (844) 384-PINK (7465).

1/2 Acre Homesteading – December 5

Join us for a presentation where you will learn how to create a thriving habitat for wildlife on your property.

Topics will cover beneficial trees, pollinator plantings, aquatic habitats and native plants that will attract and support local wildlife.

Participants will also take part in a step-by-step process to build a bluebird bird house.

The event takes place Thursday, December 5 at 6:00 at the SWCD Office, 45222 Roscoe Road, St. Clairsville (Belmont County Fairgrounds). The class fee is $10. To Register send an email to belmontswcd.edu@gmail.com or call (740) 526-0027.
