McLain Family Band at Pennyroyal Opera

Kentucky Music Hall of Fame members and recipients of the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Distinguished Achievement Award, the McLain Family Band has become internationally known as one of the most spontaneous, creative, and spirited groups performing original and traditional bluegrass music.
The band will be the headliner at the Penneyroyal Opera House, Friday, April 11.
Since 1968, the McLain Family Band has performed in 64 countries and all 50 states. They have appeared at Carnegie Hall, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Kennedy Center, the Lincoln Center, and the Grand Ole Opry.
The warm up band that night is the “Morehead State Ambassadors Band,” also known as the Mountain Music Ambassadors, is a bluegrass, old-time, and country music group from the Kentucky Center for Traditional Music at Morehead State University, known for their dynamic performances and representation of the university and regional musical heritage.
The kitchen and doors open at 5:00 pm and the show begins at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $20 per person, 12 and under are free.
