Local, Postal History Presentation

The stately homes surrounding the former Bradfield Mansion at 532 North Chestnut Street, the current home for the Belmont County Victorian Mansion Museum, have changed little since this real photo postcard view was captured more than 110 years ago.  

Local historian Bruce Yarnall will share a presentation called “Through the Lens of History: Local Postcard History.” For almost 100 years the postcard was the equivalent of today’s social media “instant messaging” and today’s social media photo posts. Come to the museum to learn about local history through Yarnall’s incredible postcard collection and his stories.

The free event will take place at the museum on Tuesday evening, April 22 at 6:00.
