Robert Leroy Campbell

Robert Leroy Campbell, 77, of Barnesville, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on July 28, 2025, surrounded by family and under the care of Interim Hospice, following a long and courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia.
Born on December 22, 1947, he was the son of the late Walter and Isabelle (Eddie) Campbell.
He was preceded in death by his former wife, Marsha Campbell; his brothers, Larry and Malverne Campbell; and his sister, Virginia Blackledge.
He is survived by his son, Anthony Campbell, and daughter-in-law, Katie (Conner) Campbell of New Concord; his cherished grandchildren, Aura, Eden, and Eli Campbell; and step-grandsons, Adam, Jake, and Luke Crawford. He is also survived by his brother, William Campbell of Barnesville.
Robert proudly served in the United States Army. He retired from AEP after decades of dedicated service and was a lifelong farmer — a man of quiet strength who worked with his hands, loved the land, and found deep peace in its rhythm.
In his final days, Robert embraced his faith, accepting Jesus Christ and receiving the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. His family takes comfort in knowing he was at peace and prepared for his eternal home.
He loved his farm, his truck, his tractors, and the joyful sounds of his grandchildren playing. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, hard work, and quiet faith will remain.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 12 pm until time of funeral services at 2 pm at Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville. Full military honors will be conducted by the Belmont County Veterans Association in the funeral home at 2 pm with a funeral liturgy to follow.
