‘Bags for the Ville’ Cornhole Tournament Set

Bags will fly at the Barnesville Area Chamber of Commerce’s first cornhole tournament next Saturday.
The Chamber of Commerce’s “Bags for the Ville” event will begin at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 25 in the West Main Street parking lot. The event is taking place in conjunction with the Blue Moon Tavern.
Participant sign ups for the cornhole tournament are currently open. The entry fee is $20. Profits will be split between the winning pot and the Chamber’s signature holiday event, Christmas in the Ville’s Skating Rink and the Christmas in the Park display at Barnesville Memorial Park.
A blind draw, double elimination format will be followed. Bags will be provided.
Interested parties may sign up in person at the Barnesville Chamber of Commerce and Blue Moon Tavern or by calling the Chamber at 740-425-4300.
This will be one of three events taking place in downtown Barnesville that day. The Barnesville Kiwanis Pancake Day and Blue Moon Tavern Chili Cook-off are also on the calendar.
Chamber director Jill Hissom said there is something for everyone that day.
“Take your family out to have breakfast. Enjoy the chili from the chili cook-off with your family or business, and then join in on the fun for the Bags for the Ville,” she said.
