Chamber of Commerce Seeks Vendors and Sponsors for Christmas Festivities
The Barnesville Area Chamber of Commerce, with help from the community, will bring Christmas festivities to the village in December. Displays for Christmas in the Park, vendors for Christmas in the Ville, and sponsors for the ice skating rink are needed.
CHRISTMAS IN THE PARK, DECEMBER 3-JANUARY 2
Displays can begin setup on Nov.30, but should be in place by Dec. 3. Decorators must bring their own supplies, such as trees, lights, and ornaments. Ornaments should be securely attached to trees, and outdoor lights connected with outdoor extension cords. Decorations should be removed by Jan. 2.
Volunteers to help hang lights and help people with displays on Nov. 30 are needed, as are sponsorships for $25.
A picture of each display will be posted on Facebook. The picture with the most “likes” will be awarded the People’s Choice Award and the designer will receive $100 in Barnesville Gold from the chamber. Voting ends midnight, Dec. 21, and the winner will be announced Dec. 22.
According to the chamber, Christmas in the Park is a family friendly event and will be enjoyed during the month as long as weather permits.
CHRISTMAS IN THE VILLE, DECEMBER 6
Vendors may set up on Dec. 5 from 4 to 7 p.m. Eight foot tables may be reserved for $25 per table. No chairs will be provided. Vendors should bring a heavy duty extension cord at least 25 feet long if electricity is required. Outlets are limited. Hours for vendors are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on December 6.
Ice skating rink sponsorships are needed. Levels include:
Santa – $1,000 sponsorship: will receive five $25 Barnesville Gold Certificates
Snowman – $500 sponsorship: will receive three $25 Barnesville Gold Certificates
Elf – $100 sponsorship: will receive one $25 Barnesville Gold Certificate
*All sponsors will be recognized with their logos displayed on a banner.
The popular Lighted Christmas Parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. After the parade and until 7:00 p.m., all the good little girls and boys may have their pictures taken with Santa at the State Theater.
