Parade Lights Up Downtown Barnesville
It was cold early Saturday night, but crowds came anyway to see the annual Barnesville Chamber of Commerce-sponsored Barnesville Christmas Parade.
This was the first year the parade was organized by the Belmont County Agricultural Society. They did a great job managing the lighted affair. A total of 33 units participated in the parade along with the Barnesville band, flag corps and cheerleaders.
In the decorated float category, first place went to the Stumptown Steam Threshers. In second place was a float by Barnesville Girl Scout Troop #10482, while third place went to a multi-unit entry by the Nail City Jeep Club of Belmont.
Several churches participated including the Batesville United Methodist Church, Middlebourne Community Church along with First Christian and Anchor Baptist congregations of Barnesville.
