State Theater Hosts Winter Frost Gala 2025
On a nippy December evening, the State Theater Company once again transformed the Barnesville Elks’ ballroom into an enchanted site for dining, dancing and socializing. Last year’s Winter Frost Gala was so successful, the event committee chose to repeat their fundraiser, with a goal to make it even better. With the help of other volunteers, they more than exceeded their target.
Greeting the party goers were tables adorned with scarlet covers, white plates upon gold chargers, and colorful, lighted center pieces. The buffet tables were also elegantly decorated and included tasty desserts. Holiday decorations completed the festive ambiance.

After a delicious buffet dinner, served by Barnesville High School members of Kindness U, attendees, in their finest semiformal attire, danced to the music of the Ron Retzer Trio. Musical selections ranged from the 60’s to the 90’s, from Elvis to Elton, and from country to Christmas. A variety of dances were observed, including cha-cha, jitterbug, slow dance, and even line dancing.

Several door prizes were donated by generous businesses and other supporters. Raffle tickets were sold for three other prizes. One lucky winner will enjoy an airplane ride; another has a stay at Myrtle Beach in store, while still another will partake of a basket full of goodies.

Proceeds from this and other events will benefit the State Theater Company. Since 2022 a group of dedicated volunteers has worked to complete their stated vision: “Provide a variety of entertainment and educational activities to our diverse communities to enrich lives for generations.” Discover more about the State Theater Company here.
As the night came to a close, those in attendance were already looking forward to Winter Frost Gala 2026. A word of advice: Get your tickets early!
