Belmont County Tourism Office Creates America250 and Belmont County 225 Logo

Executive Director of the Belmont County Tourism Office, Jackee Pugh, along with Daniel Finsley, owner of Finsley Creative, have created a logo to represent the America250 celebrations and the county’s 225th anniversary, both of which occur this year.

America250 is a bipartisan initiative working to engage every American in the 250th anniversary of the United States this summer.

Pugh explained the United States has branded a logo for America250, and most states have also created their own brand or “identity,” including Ohio.

“A lot of communities that are planning bigger celebrations have also created their own branding to make it unique for their community,” she said. “So with Belmont County also marking its 225th anniversary in 2026, we thought it was a perfect opportunity to create a logo, a brand.”

Finsley and Pugh collaborated on this idea for about a month officially launching the logo recently.

“I wanted it to showcase the courthouse being the county seat of Belmont County …,” Pugh said. “It was very important to showcase Ohio by using the outline of the state … and then the colors being red, white and blue, played off the patriotic theme of America.”

Pugh has ordered t-shirts, stickers and signs to mark the celebrations. Her office has shared the logo with the tourism partners across the county.

“I’m hoping that they all embrace it and use it as they plan and promote area events as part of America250,” she said.

The tourism office is closely following the plans that officials and community leaders across Belmont County are making for the America 250 celebration and Belmont County’s 225th anniversary.

Pugh asks that communities planning events share details with the tourism office by March 30 through an online form .

“The goal is to collect the information and print an event guide about America250 events in Belmont County,” she said.
