1/2 Acre Homesteading Class on Sustainable Meats
RELEASE
ST. CLAIRSVILLE – The Belmont Soil and Water Conservation District’s popular Half Acre Homesteading class returns on May 12. The class will take place at Crossroads Farm, 45021 Belmont-Centerville Road, Belmont, for “an in-depth look at Sustainable Meats”.
The class will walk participants through practical, real-world ways to raise food at home in small-scale meat production.
Areas covered in the class are:
– Egg-laying chickens & getting started with backyard flocks
– Meat chickens (broilers) and pasture-raised systems
– Raising turkeys for seasonal meat production
– Small-scale sheep keeping and grazing basics
Come learn, ask questions, and leave with the confidence to start or grow your own small-scale meat production!
