Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive This Saturday
Barnesville’s mail carriers will join carriers nationwide collecting donations of non-perishable food items as they complete their routes on May 9, 2026. To participate, citizens are asked to place unexpired non-perishable food items in a bag near the mailbox before the usual mail delivery time. Locally, collections go to the First Christian Church 5 Loaves Food Ministry pantry for giveaways.
In 1993, the National Association of Letter Carriers launched the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. Each year on the second Saturday of May, letter carriers across the nation collect non-perishable food items to benefit local food pantries. Stamp Out Hunger has grown into the nation’s largest one-day food drive, according to the National Association of Letter Carriers’ website.
