Barnesville Celebrates 2026 Commencement
The Barnesville Exempted Village School District will present diplomas for the 148th time to the class of 2026 on Tuesday, May 19. This tradition dates back to 1878. The event is scheduled for 7:00 PM at the Barnesville Shamrock Stadium. In case of inclement weather, the program will move to the BHS Gymnasium.
The Barnesville High School Baccalaureate Service, sponsored by the Barnesville Area Ministerial Association (BAMA), will precede graduation on Sunday, May 17, at 7:00 PM in the BHS Auditorium.
Teacher and Head Football Coach Blake Allen will give the charge to the senior class. A charge is a tradition that marks the transition from one stage of life to the next, where a final message or address to the graduating class offers guidance, encouragement, and often a call to action. Principal Ron Clark, local pastors, and senior students will speak as well.
