Successful Cutting Class for a Cure
Students at Barnesville Middle School raised over $48,000 Friday as part of the 17th Cutting Class for a Cure to benefit Belmont County cancer patients.
The day included a Survivor Walk, games, activities, food trucks and drawings during the course of the day.
“I am always overwhelmed with our community’s generous support of Cutting Class for A Cure. We had good weather, good food and the good company of our community. We were able to raise over $48,000 for cancer patients in Belmont County. We are so thankful for all the volunteers and donors,” said Denise Adkins-Leach, director and event coordinator.
“Many area businesses and individuals supported us with monetary donations and prizes. This year saw several new events for the students, including a scavenger hunt and an exercise class.”
“I really believe it takes a village to pull off this event and I wouldn’t want to live in any other village than our own little Barnesville,” Adkins-Leach said.
