Weed Wrangle Planned at Dysart Woods
BELMONT – The Captina Conservancy will host the Second Annual Weed Wrangle at Dysart Woods, 61919 Dysart Woods Road, at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 13, an effort to protect a rare habitat.
Volunteers are need to help remove garlic mustard plants, an invasive species that Dysart Woods manager Marshall Dyer said “outcompetes our native spring plants by taking up their sunlight and nutrients”.
Participants are asked to provide their own gloves while trash bags will be provided. For the convenience of weed wranglers and the general public, the conservancy has added a restroom facility in the parking lot.
