The event will take place from 9 a.m. ending at 11:30 a.m. this Saturday, June 20 at the Barnesville Rotary Lake at Memorial Park. After the tournament concludes, a luncheon, trophy presentations and door prizes will be given out at noon in the Mothers’ Club Shelter House at the park.
Those who are “Special Olympians” will receive a complementary fishing pole and t-shirt in honor of the tournament itself. Anywhere 50 to 75 participants from Belmont, Guernsey, Noble, Monroe and Tuscarawas Counties are expected to take part.
The fishing tournament honors the memory of Barnesville Rotarian Marlin J. Harper (1949-2019) who was an extremely active supporter of the Belmont County Department of Developmental Disabilities.
