Country Store Open August 1
QUAKER CITY – The Country Store has a limited supply of Rita’s delicious Home Made Ice Cream left over from the recent Ohio Hills Folk Festival, according to a post by Bill Armstrong.
The store will open at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 1, selling the ice cream until it is gone. The museum is located at 115 Main Street in the Guernsey County village.
“Tammy will also have sloppy joes, hot dogs and Ashley’s delectable ice cream/chocolate chip sandwiches,” according to the post.
The event also offers an opportunity to tour the “expanding museum”.
In other Country Store news, the store museum is one of 16 community projects in Cambridge and Guernsey County announced to receive a combined $86,632 in grant funding through the John W. and Edna McManus Shepard Fund.
The Ohio Hills Folk Festival will receive $5,000 to continue restoring The Country Store Museum.
According to a press release, since its creation, the Shepard Fund has awarded more than $720,000 to local organizations. The fund is administered by the Columbus Foundation through Community Foundations, Inc., a charitable organization established in 1987 to support nonprofit organizations throughout Ohio and beyond.
