David Mayfield Parade Plays at Pennyroyal Opera House
The David Mayfield Parade will perform at the Pennyroyal Opera House this Friday. “Without a doubt, one of the most kinetic and entertaining live shows on the bluegrass scene is The David Mayfield Parade,” stated Bluegrass Today, according to the band’s website.
Grammy- and Emmy-nominated producer David Mayfield is an entertainer, comedian and musician. Mayfield grew up playing bass and touring with his family’s bluegrass band. Winning national awards for his dexterity on guitar and mandolin, Mayfield is the frontman for The Parade, playing guitar, singing vocals and writing songs.
Banjo player Steven Moore is a 3-time National Banjo Champion and a multi-decorated state contest banjo champion. His solo record Just a Little Talk With Myself had seven songs appear on the bluegrass charts.
On resonator guitar is Ryan Wallen, who joined The Parade in 2022. Wallen has three original songs featured on the band’s newest album. He also handles art and design for The Parade.
Keith Wallen on mandolin and Graham Bell on bass round out the band’s sound. Both men joined The Parade in 2022.
Ryan Abercrombie & Secret Creek will open for The Parade.
Doors and the kitchen open at 5 p.m., with the program starting at 7 o’clock. Tickets are $20 each, and children ages 12 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased at the door with cash only.
The Pennyroyal Opera House Bluegrass Program is operated and managed by an all-volunteer staff. The Opera House is located in Fairview at the Guernsey-Belmont line, I-70 Exit 198.
