The Union Local Theatre Department will present Elf Jr.! Friday and Saturday, December 6-7 at the school’s auditorium.
Flushing Christmas Tree Lighting – December 1
The Flushing community will gather at the fire department on Sunday, December 1 at 6:00 for a flag raising ceremony, tree lighting and community gathering afterward. Mrs. Claus will be present. Enjoy hot cocoa, cookies, kid’s crafts and more. The event is sponsored by the Flushing VFD and Flushing Revitalization & Business Corp.
Light up the Night at Union Local Stadium – December 5
“Light up the Night” will take place at the Union Local Jets Stadium, Thursday, December 5 from 5:00-7:00. “A special guest will be joining us from the North Pole.”
The evening will include vendors, games, crafts, Christmas carols, and more including hot chocolate and cookies. There is no rain date. In case of inclement weather, the event will take place at the elementary school.
Beallsville Community Tree Lighting – December 6
Beallsville Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. Will take place Friday, December 6 at 6:00. “Join Santa in lighting our town Christmas tree.”
Bring the children to see Santa and Mrs. Claus. The First Christian Church Fellowship Hall will be open after the tree lighting for hot chocolate, cookies, hot dogs, punch and crafts.
Belmont Village Christmas Kick Off – December 7
The Belmont Village Holiday Kick Off will take place on Saturday, December 7. The day begins with Breakfast with Santa from 9:00-11:00 and ends with the Village Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6:00,
Union Local 6th Grade Jingle Bell Alley – December 7
Homemade products, crafts, food, jewelry, home décor, vintage ornaments and more will be offered from 9:00-11:00 at the Union Local Middle School Gym on Saturday, December 7.
Flushing Christmas Activities and Christmas Parade – December 7
Parade line-up takes place as Schuler Park at 9:00. The parade moves at 11:00. Breakfast with Santa sponsored by the Stratton Mill Foundation at the Methodist Church from 8:30-10:30. Craft Show at t he Fire Departemt from 8:00 – 12:00. (full concessions). Meet Mr. and Mrs. Claus at the fire hall after the parade.
Quaker City and Salesville “Christmas in the Country” Bazaar, Auction, Tree Lighting, Holiday Meals – December 7
The community of Quaker City will mark the launch of the Christmas Holiday Season on Saturday, December 7 with a bazaar at the Quaker City Firehouse from 11:00-4:00. Craft booths will be located at three locations – QC Fire House, Old Bank Mercantile and Salesville Church of Faith.
Members of the Quaker City United Methodist Church will offer hot chocolate and cookies in the gazebo at 6:00.
The Community Tree lighting will take place at 6:30 followed by a benefit auction at 7:00. Donations for auction items are now being accepted.
Meals offered from the QCVFD kitchen that day will include lunch options and a Baked Spaghetti Dinner in the evening.
Batesville Tree Lighting – December 8
Citizens of the village of Batesville will host an inaugural “Tree Lighting Event” on Sunday, December 8 at 4:00. Afterwards, participants will enjoy cookies and hot chocolate. Organizers ask participants to bring an ornament and share it with the community by placing it on the tree.
Fairview Village Tree Lighting – December 8
The 3rd Annual Village Tree Lighting will take place Sunday, December 8 at 6:00 at the village Hall, 290 Fair Avenue. Enjoy hot cocoa, cookies and kids crafts too. The tree lighting follows.
