Sharon Sue (Tennant) Francis

With deep love and heavy hearts, the family of Sharon Sue Francis announces her peaceful passing at home in Henrico, Virginia on Sunday, October 5, 2025, surrounded by her family.  Sharon previously resided in Piedmont, Ohio for twenty-four years where she and her husband built many cherished memories.

Born on May 17, 1943, in Wetzel, West Virginia to the late William Willard Tennant and Virginia Isabelle Brock.  She was a graduate of Wellsburg High School.  She also attended West Virginia University in Wheeling where she received a certificate in substitute teaching.  She loved her job at Stone and Thomas wrapping gifts during the Christmas season.  She enjoyed helping out at the local school giving children one on one instruction throughout the year.

Sharon was a woman of wisdom, wit, and warmth. She loved spending quiet moments on her back porch, listening to music and watching the hummingbirds dance in the air. Her musical taste was wonderfully eclectic, reflecting her curious mind and joyful spirit.

Sharon was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  Her greatest joy came from her family. Her face lit up whenever her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren came to visit. She poured her heart into every conversation, every story, and every shared laugh.

A gifted knitter and crocheter, Sharon found beauty in the details of life. Whether crafting something cozy for a loved one or simply enjoying a peaceful afternoon, she filled her world with love and creativity.

Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Lee Francis, Sr.  They enjoyed close to fifty years of marriage before his passing.  She was also preceded in death by her sons Ronald Francis, Jr., Jerry Francis, Donald Francis and Dale Francis, and a brother Terry Tennant.

Those left to mourn her loss are sons Chris Francis (Sherry) of Henrico, Virginia and Randy Francis (Pam) of King William, Virginia,  daughter Robin Cronin (Jim) of Cincinnati, Ohio; two daughters-in-law Sharon “Nic” Francis of Cambridge, Ohio and Mary Francis of King William, Virginia; eleven grandchildren:  Eric, Amber, Savannah, Christopher, Lauren, Erin, Colby, Rachel, Jennifer, Xylvia and Madyson; seventeen great-grandchildren; a sister, Karen Tober of Windsor Heights, West Virginia, beloved nieces Kimmy Jo and husband Charlie (she loved her Charlie hugs)  and Jeni Kay of West Virginia; and special friends Harold and Jeannie Surratt of Piedmont, Ohio.

She will be remembered for her kindness, her humor, and the gentle wisdom she offered so freely. Though her chair on the porch will now remain empty, her presence will always be felt in the lives she touched and the hearts she warmed.

Viewing will be held in  Koch Funeral home, 216 S High Street, Freeport, Ohio 43973 on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 1:00 PM, with friends and family sharing memories starting at 1:30 PM followed by a procession to Oak Grove Cemetery, 71765 Hendrysburg-Freeport Road, Piedmont, (Flushing Township) Belmont County) Ohio 43983 for burial.
