Many Enjoy Kiwanis Club’s Pancake Day
Over 450 area residents showed up for the annual Barnesville Kiwanis Club Pancake Breakfast last Saturday morning. The hearty breakfast consisted of pancakes, J-Mo Meats sausage along with coffee, milk and juice. The event took place in the basement dining room of the Assumption Catholic Church.
The popular fundraising event goes back almost 75 years to the club’s 1948 founding. Proceeds from the event are used by the club to benefit youth activities and projects in the greater Barnesville community.

Club president Rick Clift thanked everyone for their support and noted it’s success is, in large part, thanks to the many members of the BHS Key Club who pitched in as servers, pourers and dining room staff.
The project is supported by ticket sales and the generosity of more than a dozen area businesses and organizations.

Sponsors included McDonalds of Barnesville, Hissom’s Service Center, Blossoms, Chestnut Lanes, Campbell-Plumly-Miburn Funeral Home, Barnesville Chamber of Commerce, Rumer Loudin, United Dairy, WVU Medicine/Barnesville Hospital, Bless Your Heart Folk Art, Barnesville Area News, Joe’s Tire, J-Mo Meats, William Knox, CPA, Assumption Catholic Church and Woodsfield Savings Bank.
The event also launched sales of tickets for the the club’s second Ornament Walk that will take place as Christmas in the Ville activities on December 6. Only 144 tickets will be sold to collect 25 ornaments from area businesses and organizations. More information on the fundraiser is posted on the Kiwanis Club Facebook Page.
