Barnesville Featured in Online Publication
Another online travel publication has discovered Barnesville!
The publication, Islands.com, that profiles destinations, travel guides, cruises, outdoor adventures, news and features, released an article on Barnesville on January 4.
Penned by writer Sam Scott, the illustrated article is titled “Between Pittsburgh and Columbus is Ohio’s Artsy Village with a Walkable Downtown”.
“Ohio may not be many travelers’ top choice for cultural sightseeing, but a trip to Barnesville will change your mind. The sweeping forested hills of the eastern Ohio countryside attracted Quaker pioneers to settle down during the early 1800s, leading to Barnesville developing into a community of winding streets and charming architecture. These days, local celebrations and easy access to sweeping outdoor scenery make the town a great detour for all types of travelers. Roughly 90 minutes by car from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and a similar distance from Columbus, this should be your next weekend getaway”.
Subsection titles are “Museums and outdoor adventures around Barnesville” and “Explore the historic district of Barnesville”.
The article mentions of Barnesville’s many assets including eateries Blue Moon Tavern, Main Street Barrel House and Tlaquepaque as well as the Victorian Mansion Museum, Presbyterian Church, Watt Center for History and the Arts, Barnesville Pumpkin Festival, Barnesville Memorial Park, Barnesville Hutton Memorial Library, Barnesville B & O Depot and Barnesville Antique Mall.
Also receiving shout outs are Raven Rocks and Seneca Lake!
