Ruth E. Warfield
Ruth E. Warfield, age 101, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 10, 2026. She was born December 28, 1924 in St. Clairsville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Clyde and Emma (Hess) Taylor. Ruth was a 1942 graduate of St. Clairsville High School. Ruth worked during WW II in a factory to support the war effort. After marriage she was a devoted stay at home mother until her youngest children were in school. She then went on to work for the Doctor’s Hospital in the Dietary Department for 25 years before retiring. Ruth was a member of the Dueber United Methodist Church. She had been an avid bowler and had played on many leagues into her 90’s. She loved to crochet and knit for her family. Ruth was a dedicated blood donor for the Red Cross. She was a loving grandmother who never missed an opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The day before she passed away she was feeding her 6 month old great granddaughter. Ruth was a very loving person and was a mother to everyone in her neighborhood.
On May 2, 1947 Ruth married Alden Warfield who preceded her in death in 2009. Survivors include her children, Jay Warfield of Alpharetta, GA., Vicki (Jim) Davis of Jerusalem, OH., Doug Warfield of Bonne Terre, MO., and Paul Warfield of Massillon; her grandchildren, Brian (Stephanie) Warfield, Chris Warfield, Sarah (Chris) Steele, Maggie (Steve) VanMeter, Andrea Davis, and Deven (Taylor) Warfield; her 10 great grandchildren; her brother, Jerry Taylor; along with her sister, Brenda (Brian) Sutton.
In addition to her parents and husband, Alden, Ruth was preceded in death by her siblings, Donald, Louis, Joanne, Mary, Nancy, Helen, and Beverly.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Reed Funeral Home NORTH CANTON Chapel (801 Pittsburg Ave. NW North Canton) at 12:00 PM with Rev. Jonathan George officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may visit with the family two hours prior to the service at the funeral home (10:00 AM til service time)
