Easement Signing Meetings Set for Water Project

Project will Serve Fairview, Hendrysburg and Mt. Olivett Road North

With a mid-2026 project launch approaching, planners and officials for the North Water Project have begun the major step of securing easements affecting property owners.

Once completed, the project will provide plentiful, safe water for residents and businesses in the communities of Fairview and Hendrysburg as well as the northern section of Mt. Olivett Road to SR 800.

“We are now in the process of signing easements for construction and will be holding two public meetings for homeowners. These meetings will give property owners an opportunity to stop in, review, and sign the easements that allow construction to occur on their property so we can connect them to the new water line,” said Gabbie Haengle, Senior Rural Development Specialists for the Great Lakes Community Action Partnership.

Two public meetings where residents may complete easements and find out more information on the project will take place from 3-7 p.m. on Feb. 17 at the Pennyroyal Opera House in Fairview and from 3-7 p.m. the following week, Feb. 24, at the Masonic Lodge Hall in Hendrysburg.

Meeting details are shared in the flyer posted below.

In addition to sharing the flyer with area news sources, the document will also be mailed directly to homeowners.

Earlier this month, Barnesville Area News shared that the project would benefit from grant funds totaling $1.191 Million awarded to the Village of Fairview and Belmont County from the Ohio Department of Development. Read that account here.

Once construction is underway, the project is expected to take eight months to complete. The Village of Barnesville will supply water for the project.
