Belmont County High School Art Show and Preforming Arts Showcase Planned

ST. CLAIRSVILLE – The third Annual Belmont County Celebration of the Arts will take place at the Ohio Valley Mall Thursday through Sunday.

The Celebration includes the Belmont County High School Art Show and the Visual and Performing Arts Showcase.

Exhibits will be displayed during the four-day show. Awards will be given in the following categories: Teachers’ Choice Awards, Merit Awards and The People’s Choice Award.

Teachers’ Choice Awards winners, first to fifth place, will be determined by art teachers. Teachers do not vote for their own pieces.

From the Teachers’ Choice winners, the top three from each school will comprise the “Top 21 Pieces for Belmont County” and receive a Rosette Ribbon and a $20 gift card.

Merit Awards will be assigned to certain pieces that do not earn another award.

The People’s Choice Award will be voted on by members of the public to choose their favorite piece from the high school exhibit only. All students receive a certificate of participation.

The Visual and Performing Arts Showcase will feature artwork from elementary and middle school students and will be on display Friday through Sunday.

Performances begin at 11 a.m. Saturday morning.
